All motorists are obliged to book in their vehicles for annual MOT testing from three years after the date of manufacture. At Pond Garage, we’ve been testing cars for owners in Thornton Heath and the surrounding areas since 1957. Today, our garage is approved by the DVSA and VOSA, and we perform MOT testing on any vehicle in the Class IV category.
The MOT test is a series of physical and mechanical checks which determine the safety, roadworthiness and emission standards of your vehicle. Upon successful completion of the test, our garage in Thornton Heath issues a pass certificate which runs for 12 months.
Should a vehicle fail MOT testing, we issue motorists a copy of the inspection elements which clearly indicate the reasons for that failure. Should this happen to you, please keep in mind that Pond Garage can undertake car repairs, including brake repairs, on any vehicle which has failed a Class IV MOT test.
Prior to MOT testing at our garage in Thornton Heath, we advise customers to check basic roadworthiness aspects of the test ahead of setting out for their appointment. In doing so, minor issues can be addressed beforehand. This increases the chance of your vehicle passing all MOT testing elements during the actual inspection. We also recommend periodic car servicing to ensure your vehicle remains in the best condition.
We remind existing customers in Thornton Heath that Pond Garage maintains a database so that reminders for MOT testing can be dispatched well in advance of a due inspection. MOT testing can be undertaken up to 28 days ahead of a current MOT expiry date, giving the vehicle owner up to 13 months of full and concurrent certification.
Our garage has dedicated bays which we only use for MOT testing. This means that you’ll always be seen at your scheduled appointment time and we’ll never use the ramp we’ve assigned to your vehicle for any other type of work. Vehicle collection and delivery is available if you don’t have the time to pop in for MOT testing with us personally.
